NIS - OECD: the future of education begins today

The official website of the OECD published videos with the participation of students and teachers of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.

Within the framework of the project “The Future of Education and Skills: Education 2030”, a series of videos was created on the main concepts in global education. Kazakhstan is represented by teachers and students of the Intellectual Schools.

In the “Well-being 2030”, a student of NIS Kyzylorda, Nurai Bektai, spoke about her vision of the architecture of the future, and Zhanassyl Bakyt from Ust-Kamenogorsk raised the actual problem of evacuating people during floods with the help of robotics.

Teachers of Intellectual Schools - Nodir Rasulov from Shymkent PhM and Dinara Onerkan from Ust-Kamenogorsk devoted their lessons to digital literacy. A foreign teacher of NIS Petropavlovsk, Katharina Wolf, demonstrated how global competences can be implemented through the natural sciences.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development is an authoritative forum in which governments solve the global problems of our time. In 2016, “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” autonomous educational organization became the national coordinator of the OECD global project “Future of Education and Skills: Education 2030”.

At the NIS XI International Conference "Teachers, changing the world of schools", which will be held October 24-25, 2019 in Nur-Sultan, representatives of the OECD will present the results of the TALIS for this year. Every year the cooperation of NIS and the OECD expands. The speeches of the representatives of the organization always arouse the great interest of Kazakhstani teachers. So, in 2017 one of the keynote speakers of the conference was the head of the early childhood and school section of the OECD Department of Education and the coordinator of large-scale PISA and TALIS research Yuri Belfali.
