The Hong Kong Polytechnic University held a ceremony honoring the first graduates of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
The cooperation between AEO ‘Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools’ and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University began in 2015, with the admission of 15 NIS graduates to PolyU based on scholarship. Since 2015, 87 NIS graduates received scholarships to one of the best Asia’s university undergraduate programs.
This year the first 11 students successfully graduated from the university. Managing director of AEO Aigul Kazzhanova and the senior manager of the Department for Educational Quality Assessment and International Accreditation Gulnara Sadyk attended the special honoring ceremony.
– Our graduates became a bridge between the two states, Aigul Kazzhanova pointed out during her congratulations.
Dr. Lam Tai-fai, Chairman of the PolyU Council, in his speech noted the high academic preparedness of NIS graduates, and also added that they are “a class brimming not only with knowledge and high achievements, but with historical standing as PolyU’s first batch of students and soon-to-be graduates from Kazakhstan”.
Also Madina Kaliyeva, the winner of the ‘Outstanding Student Award of PolyU’, a graduate of Nazarbayev Intellectual school of Physics and Mathematics in Kokshetau, expressed the words of gratitude on behalf of all graduates.
The university was presented with two paintings by students of the Shymkent Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemistry and Biology.
