Students of Nazarbayev Intellectual School ChB, Almaty took part in the 12th European Festival of Science and Art in France.
The best students, who study French as a second foreign language, spent seven days in the city of Loches, at the invitation of the French international school Saint-Denis. The festival was dedicated to the 160th anniversary of the international school, which is the organizer of the festival.
This year the festival brought together participants from international schools in eight countries. “ French guys greeted our group with a friendly “Bienvenue”, which means “Welcome” in French” - says Aizere Bolat, a 9th grade student.
The delegation of NIS thoroughly prepared for the festival from the beginning of the year to show their French friends all the richness and diversity of Kazakh culture. The program included folk dances and songs.
”The audience and the jury liked our dance and our performance was included in the program of the gala concert”, says Dana Dossanova, a 9th grade student.
The vocalists of the school performed the song of Abai “Kozimnyn Karasy” in French.
“The Bulgarian schoolchildren said that through our video they fell in love with our country and will necessarily visit Kazakhstan in the summer”, recalls Kamila Klim, a student of the 8th grade.
The gala-concert “Best of” with the participation of all festival guests from America, Mexico, Bulgaria, Poland, Turkey, India, musical and theatrical groups of France completed the festival.
Students of NIS gained valuable experience from a trip to France participating in the International Festival, immersed in the language environment, became better acquainted with French culture and traditions, made friends from different countries. Most importantly, they strengthened the bridge of friendship between the two schools – NIS ChB, Almaty and the international Saint-Denis school of the city of Loches.
