There was signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Korea


There was signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of education between Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Taldykorgan and the Center of Education at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

The school hosted a meeting between Saule Umerbekova, the principal of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Taldykorgan and Mr. Nam Hyun, the director of the Center of Education at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea.

During the meeting there were discussed such issues as the deepening of further bilateral cooperation, the development of the Korean language and culture at school, the exchange of students and teachers between Kazakhstani and South Korean schools.

The students of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Taldykorgan have been studying Korean language since 2011. However, since 2018-2019 academic year, Korean language is being introduced into the curriculum of the 10th grades as compulsory learning of a second foreign language.

The student exchange project “Kazakhstan-Korea” was implemented in NIS in the city of Taldykorgan between 2012-2015, where students studied at the Tanje school in Seoul. During the visit Kazakhstani delegation participated in the youth environmental forum of the Asian -Pacific region, which was held in the city of Suwon (South Korea).
