A student of the Aktobe Intellectual School, Rustam Valeyev, showed the best result in the qualifying round of the International Geological Olympiad IESO - 2019, which will be held in South Korea.
Rustam will present Kazakhstan together with other finalists of the national stage - Amir Zholdasbekov from Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana, a student of the lyceum of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk Almas Iskanderov and a student of the gymnasium №4 of Astana Aybike Zhagiparova.
- I began to prepare for three months before the Olympiad. In addition, it was necessary to improve language skills, because all tasks are performed in English. I will do my best, I understand how responsible it is to represent my country at the global level, – Rustam Valeyev admitted.
The International Earth Science Olympiad is an annual competition among secondary school students in such disciplines as geology, meteorology, oceanography and astronomy. A team of schoolchildren from Kazakhstan will go to Daegu, South Korea, with the support of the Shakhmardan Yessenov Foundation.
Every year, students of the Intellectual Schools are among the winners of the world stage. So, in 2017 in France, Aruzhan Kalymova and Moldir Shyngys from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana won silver in team competition. At IESO - 2018 in Thailand, Kamila Kazhen (also a student of the capital NIS) won gold awards in two types of competitions - the Earth System Project (ESP) and International Team Field Investigation (ITFI), Aknazar Kazhymurat from Almaty took the silver medal.
