During the meeting, the main activity results and prospects for the development of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools were discussed, the Akorda reports.
The Head of State noted the special role of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools in the system of the national secondary education.
- These schools should be an example for everybody; we will take their experience into account when opening new schools. Since 2008, 5660 people finished Intellectual Schools, all of whom are fluent in three languages. We showed the whole society that it is quite feasible to study in three languages in Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In turn, Kulyash Shamshidinova informed the President of Kazakhstan about the ongoing work on forming the teaching staff of Intellectual Schools.
- Over the years, thanks to your support, a lot of work has been done. We employ 2,800 teachers, of whom 195 are foreign teachers, 183 are graduates of the leading foreign universities, trained under the international Bolashak Program, and graduates of the Nazarbayev University. To date, the teaching staff includes 4 Doctors, 22 Candidates of Sciences and 719 holders of a Master’s degree, K. Shamshidinova said.
In addition, the head of the educational institution told that the formation of a school enrolment is carried out on a competitive basis and is governed by exceptional abilities of applicants.
At the end of the meeting, the Head of State gave a number of specific instructions on the further development of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
