A graduate of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Ust-Kamenogorsk Kamshat Kumarova received a full educational grant from foreign university.
The 12th grade student Kamshat Kumarova received a full grant in Hong Kong Polytechnic University on the specialty "Hotel and Tourism". This is evidenced by a letter signed by the employee of the University for International Affairs Miss Wyndi Chow. It says: "Recognizing your high achievements, it is an honor for us to provide you with a full educational grant for study, accommodation in a hostel and a scholarship."
– I am very happy and I want to thank the teachers of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School, who gave me a lot of knowledge and did a lot for my education. I am also grateful to my father Bakytbek Kusainovich for placing education in the first place and always trying to support his children in their pursuit of study, – Kamshat says.
Kamshat came from Kokpektinsky region in East Kazakhstan oblast. She studied far from her parents starting from grade 5. At that time she did not know English at all, and now the result of her IELTS test is 6.5 out of the possible 9 band score. The result of the test for revealing knowledge in Mathematics, critical thinking and writing (SAT) is 1380 from 1600. Kamshat is the leader of shanyrak. According to her curator Ainur Mukasheva, Kamshat devotes a lot of her time to the volunteer work within "Serving the Society" project. Her favorite hobby is folk dances.
She had the desire to study at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University after meeting with the representatives in November last year. In addition, she learned that the university is on the third place in the world for teaching students in the specialty "Hotel and Tourism" and it has its own five-star hotel where students practice. The graduate carefully prepared necessary documents and she has an interview on Skype.
– I tried to learn about the requirements, what questions would be asked. A graduate of our school Zhanerke Toktarova, the winner of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University educational grant in the specialty "Economics", helped a lot in this, – Kamshat admits.
